Several Questions For... Red Ink
Posted: 17 February, 2010
Mornington Peninsula rockers Red Ink just emerged from Sing Sing South studio, where they laid down tracks for their new ep. While in the studio, the lads found time to record a studio diary, which you can watch below.
Now back in the daylight, we caught up with Red Ink bassist James Munns, who told us about what he's listening to, where Red Ink would like to play, and why he'll probably never retire.
My Favourite Song Right Now:
Suede: The Beautiful Ones.
My current musical obsession:
Them Crooked Vultures. Dave Grohl on Drums = Heaven.
A great, under recognized record:
The Hives: The Black & White Album.
At the moment, I'm reading:
Scar Tissue, Anthony Kiedis's biography. It's intense!
Three movies everyone should see before they die:
The Inside Man
Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels
Anchorman
My dream collaboration would be:
Either David Bowie or the late Joe Strummer
My alternate, non-musical vocation would be:
Probably in filmmaking.
If cash/logistics were no object, I would do a tour of:
Europe, including the UK, For Sure
The last thing I bought:
The new Mew album, No More Stories Are Told Today I'm Sorry They Washed Away No More Stories The World Is Grey I'm Tired Let's Wash Away. Ridiculously long name but a good album nonetheless.
Most treasured bit of gear:
Brendan's Line 6 'M13
Ideally, I will retire:
When I can no longer physically play any instruments.
